NASW-NC Membership Awards
The Presidents' Award/Fund provides an annual award of $1,000 to an MSW student from a CSWE accredited social work program in North Carolina. This is an award that honors past NASW-NC presidents and is awarded to MSW students who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and potential. The award will be presented in March at the annual NASW-NC Ethics Conference and Recognition & Awards Luncheon held in Raleigh, N.C.
The purpose of the award is to recognize Toby Brown's commitment to BSW education and BSW students through the development of a scholarship award. This scholarship fund was established in memory of and to honor Dr. James S. Toby Brown who died on May 4, 1995. He was an Assistant Professor of Social Work at North Carolina State University and was a much-recognized educator and practitioner. Click here to learn more about Dr. James S. Toby Brown!
The NASW-NC Social Worker of the Year Award is an annual award given to a social work professional who has demonstrated commendable social work practice and involvement with NASW and other professional, civic, and community organizations.
