Starting a Local Program Unit

NASW-NC has several Local Program Units (LPUs) througout the state.  Each LPU has a volunteer chairperson(s) and a small group of additional volunteers who plan meetings and develop programming ideas.

Local Program Units provide social workers with opportunities to network and gain continuing education and professional development training.  Most LPUs meet monthly or every other month.

For information about developing a new NASW-NC LPU in your area, please click here to access the NASW-NC Local Program Unit Manual.  This manual contains just about everything there is to know about starting and managing an LPU.

Also feel free to contact Erin Cashwell at the Chapter office if you have additional questions or feedback.  She can be reached at 800-280-6207 or erin@naswnc.org.

If you would like to discuss starting a group with other established LPU chairs, please email them at  LPUchairs@googlegroups.com
