Would you like to Volunteer/Intern with NASWNC?
Social work internships, field placements and volunteer opportunities are available at the NASW-NC Chapter office and across the State. There are currently 3 staff members available to supervise social work students and 1 staff member available for non-social work students doing internships with NASW-NC, they are: Kathy Boyd, Executive Director, Kay Paksoy, Director of Advocacy, Policy & Legislation, Aaron Swart, Director of Membership , and Erin Cashwell, Director of Operations.
Volunteers:
Volunteer opportunities are being developed across the state and link the individual with local NASWNC affiliates in their area. Please review our Volunteer Page before filling out the form below!
If you would like to learn more about volunteering in the office, a Local Program Unit, Statewide Practice Unit, Committee or other areas, please fill out this form to be contacted. You must fill out this form to volunteer.
Internships:
If you are interested in non-profit management, administration, staff supervision, grant writing and other fund development, marketing, and working with boards of directors and other professional organizations, then you want to work with Kathy Boyd, AC SW, CMSW, NASW-NC Chapter Director.
If you are interested in advocacy, lobbying, policy development, grassroots organizing, community building, working with coalitions, solving interdisciplinary problems, candidate endorsement and election, and writing position statements, then you want to work with the NASW-NC Director of Advocacy, Policy & Legislation.

NASW-NC does offer a somewhat flexible schedule and can tailor tasks to the student's interest areas. Placements within NASW-NC are non-paid and are macro level placements.
