Let’s laugh and learn together with Barb Bancroft RN, MSN, PNP as she explores all aspects of “Pediatricks” from absurd embryologic and fetal development, controversial “new” thinking on vaccines, why kids should eat dirt and roll around in pet dander, and on to the rollicking mysteries of the adolescent brain! Barb will help you laugh, learn, and remember why you love your chosen career!

In the afternoon, join us for an experiential introduction to the Caring Conversation Café Model of family engagement featuring Jodi Whiteman M.Ed., BS, CEIM author and professional development facilitator for clinical research and the educational organization, Zero To Three. Learn new ways to work with families on a whole different level of successful communication!

Objectives:

  • Update pediatric-neonatal practice skills by participation in discussion of the current application of evidence based clinical "pearls"
  • Experience the healing effects of humor as an educational coping tool with patients, families, and co-workers
  • Participate in the family engagement activity model of Caring Conversation Café
  • Apply the biology of stress and the science of hope to all pediatric-neonatal practices as presented in the documentary film: Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope
