Topic: Involuntary Commitment: What, When, Who, How and Why?
This training will hone in on the details of Involuntary Commitment (IVC)- who, what, when, where, why, etc.  It will discuss criteria for commitment and the general IVC process, including discussion about what to do should you believe someone you work with is in need of IVC.  In addition, this training will also address the ethical implications involved with IVCs- such as the limits of confidentiality and duty to warn.  It will address one's right to self-determination, which is inherently infringed upon when one is placed under involuntary commitment order- so how does self-determination come into play with IVC?  This training will engage attendees in discussion regarding how the IVC process and the core ethical values we abide by interact.
