Social work students at the BSW and MSW level can complete their required field practicum at the North Carolina Chapter office, located in Raleigh. Social work field practicum students will have the opportunity to explore:

- Grassroots Organization
If you are interested in social work administration, grant writing and other fund development, Macro Social work, and working with boards of directors and other professional organizations, contact Kathy Boyd, MSW, ACSW, Executive Director.
If you are interested in social work advocacy, lobbying, policy development, grassroots organizing, community building, working with coalitions, solving interdisciplinary problems, candidate endorsement and election, and writing policy briefs and position statements, contact Kay Castillo, Director of Advocacy, Policy, & Legislation.
If you are interested in volunteer and program management, nonprofit management, communications and social media, marketing, membership management, or macro social work, contact Valerie Arendt, MSW, MPP Associate Executive Director.
Please note that these internships are fulfilled through BSW or MSW programs within North Carolina. Keep in mind that experiences at the North Carolina General Assembly depend on the time of your internship and when the legislators are in session.
