In selecting the NASW-NC Social Worker of the Year, most weight is placed on the impact that the social worker has had on both professional and client communities. Nominees must be NASW members and reside in North Carolina. for more information on the Social Worker of the Year Award! The Presidents' AwardThe NASW-NC Presidents' Award provides an annual award of $1,000 to an MSW student. This award honors past NASW-NC presidents and is awarded to MSW students who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and potential for excellence in the field. Applicants must be NASW members who are expected to graduate within the current academic year from a CSWE accredited (or in candidacy status) MSW program in North Carolina. for more information on the Presidents' Award! The Toby Brown AwardThe NASW-NC Toby Brown Award provides and annual award of $1,000 to a BSW student. This award is given to BSW students who have demonstrated great accomplishments, growth, and development within their field placement and have shown impressive involvement within the student social work association at their school, or other professional social work organizations or community organizations. Nominees must be NASW members enrolled in a CSWE accredited (or in candidacy status) BSW program in North Carolina. for more information on the Toby Brown Award! Other Awards and Scholarship Information:NASW National Awards and ScholarshipsThrough the NASW Foundation, the NASW National office provides several awards and scholarships. For information on scholarships available through the North Carolina Child Welfare Education Collaborative, for more information on NASW National awards and scholarships! NC Child Welfare CollaborativeAt six participating universities, the Collaborative offers students financial incentives and specialized training, courses, and field education. In turn, students are obligated to work in a North Carolina public child welfare agency. For every year or partial year in which support was received, students commit to working 12 months. for more information on the NC Child Welfare Collaborative!
