About Heroes in the Fight

Heroes in the Fight is a recognition partnership program established and sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company and is being implemented in North Carolina through a partnership with The Coalition for Persons Disabled by Mental Illness (CPDMI). The purpose of this program is to honor “heroes” who provide care and support for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and their families. This award has an Individual Allied Healthcare Professionals Category which includes social workers among other helping professionals. The NASW-NC Recognition & Awards Committee selects social workers to nominate for consideration.
