Recent News about Loan Forgiveness
The US Dept. of Education has created a new call center for borrowers to obtain information about the Cost Reduction Act of 2007. You may call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 800-433-3243 to learn more. The portion of this legislation that is most pertinent to social workers is the section on loan forgiveness. The law forgives outstanding education debt for those that meet the eligibility requirements.
