Join Us for the 5th Annual Disability Advocacy Conference

Registration includes session materials, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks

New sessions this year include:
3-session track on the Impact of Trauma, including a screening of the 1-hour documentary, Resilience

Psychiatric Advance Directives
Parental Rights
Restrictive Interventions in Public Schools
Changes in Special Education
Updates on Medicaid Reform and Other Medicaid Topics

The focus of our conference is on legal issues that impact the lives of people with all types of disabilities in North Carolina. The information shared at our conference will keep Social Workers informed of the current issues facing people with disabilities. In addition to a keynote speaker (Lynne Seagel, Executive Director of Hope House Foundation), we offer five breakout sessions where attendees can select from 3-4 sessions to attend. In addition, this year we will run a track of sessions focused on trauma-informed care. The three-session track will kick-off with a screening of the documentary "Resilience", which delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a new movement to treat and prevent toxic stress.
