Title: Being Well! Practicing Intentional Self-Care


Presenters: Nora Chambers Carter, LCSWA, MSW

Nora Chambers Carter earned her MSW degree from Winthrop University as well as a graduate degree from Appalachian State University.


She has worked in the human services field since the early 1990’s in various capacities of child welfare and mental health. Services to community organizations have included curriculum development, foster family consultation, program administration and trainer.

She has presented workshops nationally to diverse professional groups for over 22 years.  Community contributions include serving as Winthrop University Social Work Advisory Board and JCSU Community Advisory Board.


Her interests include occupational social work, veterans, women and trauma recovery.  Nora is also a valued committee member of the Charlotte Local Program Unit of NASW, NC.

Cost: Students: $10.00

         NASW Members: $20.00 
         Non Members - $45.00
         Non-members rate $15.00 Per Hour


Learning Objectives:

1.      Participants will identify factors that lead to increased stress within the work setting.


2.      Participants will explore how agencies can implement practices that decrease burnout in staff and maximize staff support for agency client base.


3.      Participants will identify a wellness course of action for ongoing self-care.

Registration: Seating will be limited to 30 participants, so reserve your spot early! If you plan to attend this training please register by October 20, 2018.
