Title: Gas Lighting

Gaslighting is an insidious form of manipulation and emotional abuse which leads to the victim doubting themselves, what they know to be true, and even questioning their own perception and sanity. The term gaslighting is coined after the 1983 play Gas Light in which the main character attempts to convince his wife that she is insane by manipulating small elements of her environment, and then insisting she is mistaken when she points out these subtle changes.
