Title: Climate Change & Social Work
Overview:
Climate change is having effects that will become more profound with each generation. We must adjust socially, emotionally and physically. Social work should be at the forefront of adjustment. This workshop will present the problem and how social work can be the leader in dealing with it.
Objectives:
At the end of the workshop, the participants will: Understand the implications of global climate change on attainment of physiological, safety, social and esteem needs; Understand the implications of global climate change on social work practice; be able to articulate how global warming effects on their clients; have a brief plan on how to alleviate the effects of climate change on their clients
