This week's featured Board Member is Undergraduate Student Representative Jason Scianno!

Jason is a BSW student in his senior year at UNC Charlotte. After 25 years in the entertainment industry, working with well-known artists like Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen and Whitney Houston, Jason decided to make a career change, dedicating his time and energy to helping improve life for those suffering with a substance use disorder. Jason is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, has served as a student ambassador for the School of Social Work at UNC Charlotte, and is an active part of their honors program. He currently volunteers his time with NC Courts as a Guardian ad Litem and works part time at Hope Haven, LCC. in Charlotte, a therapeutic community from those in recovery from a substance use disorder and/or mental illness. Jason was also this year’s BSW student to receive NAADAC’s National William White Scholarship. Jason will graduate in May 2019 and plans on entering UNC Charlotte’s advanced standing master’s program. He is a father to a ten-year-old boy, Lucian, and husband to his very supportive wife, Denise.
