NASW-NC Interns, Staff and PACE Committee with Governor Roy Cooper

Social work students at the BSW and MSW level can complete their required field practicum at the NASW North Carolina Chapter office, located in Raleigh. NASW-NC provides a unique macro experience in administrative and policy work with a significant focus on advocacy for the profession and for those we serve. The field experience is individually tailored around the discipline and specialization of the student, the focus of the association, requirements of the social work program and student interests. Qualified field instructors are committed to providing new and challenging experiences in an effort to maximize student learning.

Social work field practicum students will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Advocacy & Policy Development
  • Administrative Social Work
  • Professional Development & Training
  • Volunteer Management
  • Membership Management
  • Grassroots Organization
  • Nonprofit Management and Leadership

Please note that these internships are fulfilled through BSW or MSW programs within North Carolina. Keep in mind that experiences at the North Carolina General Assembly depend on the time of your internship and when the legislators are in session.
