This week's NASW-NC Member of the Week is George Appenzeller, LCSW... congratulations George!
After
George Appenzeller received his MSW at the age of 34 he worked for
several years developing alcohol and drug abuse programs based on his
master’s thesis for the State of SC and then as the director of research
and quality assurance for SC’s Department of Health and Human Services.
In 1989 he and his wife, also an MSW, started a non-profit clinical
private practice providing free services for children and adolescents in
foster care, recently adopted or in need of mental health services. The
clinical practice was supported by the profits from their macro
evaluation, training and research practice which now works primarily on
environmental justice issues.
