Beginning January 1, 2025, Aetna will administer the North Carolina State Health Plan network.
We are hearing from NASW-NC members about their concern with getting enrolled in a timely manner with the State Health Plan through Aetna. Thousands of providers across North Carolina are trying to enroll for the first time with Aetna and the State Health Plan this month. So, if you are trying to speak to an Aetna representative and being placed on long holds, this is the reason.
Here is the information we have received from our Aetna contacts:
For the North Carolina State Health Plan Clear Pricing Project (CPP), if the provider is already an in-network Aetna provider, they have until the 5/31/2024 Open Enrollment deadline to enroll in the CPP. Providers who are not currently in-network with Aetna are excluded from the Open Enrollment deadline. New providers can still enroll in CPP after 5/31/2024 once they are credentialed and have a contract established with us. Below is the link to the CPP Enrollment site.
