Topic: Perinatal Mental Health: Why It Matters

This presentation will provide an overview of common perinatal mental health conditions and associated risk factors impacting perinatal care outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on exploring ways healthcare and mental health providers can apply clinical care approaches oriented around maternal mental health considerations.

 

Presenters: Erika Taylor, MS, LMFT-S, BC-TMH; PMH-C and Susan Howell, MSS, LCSW

Erika Taylor is a clinical faculty member and instructor in the Division of Behavioral Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine at East Carolina University. She serves as a behavioral telehealth provider on two federally funded telehealth grant project aimed at increasing access to mental health services in historically underserved shortage areas.


Susan Howell is a medical social work case manager at ECU Health in the ob/gyn clinic where she provided supportive counseling in addition to case management services.

Cost:

Students: FREE

NASW Members: FREE

Non-members: $15

 

CE: 1 Hour. Proof of attendance for CE will be distributed via email within one week after the event. Those registering as students will not receive CE for this event.
