Topic: Gene Editing: The Good, the Bad, and the Very Ugly This brief presentation will 1) introduce the concept and mechanism of gene editing, 2) review some of its strengths and weaknesses as a tool used for individual and population health, and 3) discuss ethical dilemmas that social workers will likely confront with patients and clients in varied contexts including prenatal screening, adult DNA screening, and genetic enhancement.
