On Wednesday, the Obama administration announced an
extension for Americans trying to enroll for health insurance under the
Affordable Care Act. However, this extension is for those who are currently
trying to enroll by the March 31st deadline.
“Under the new rules, people will be able to qualify for an
extension by checking a blue box on HealthCare.gov to indicate that they tried
to enroll before the deadline,” according to the
announcement. Starting in mid-April, people will not be eligible for an
extension. The Obama Administration pushed for the extension in preparation for
a surge of individuals who are seeking to get enrolled at the last minute.
