NASW-NC is committed to seeing the Affordable Care Act implemented so patients have access to affordable, needed care. This summer, our National office signed on to a letter of concern to Secretary Sylvia Burwell on implementation challenges. Proposed Rules were established and NASW-NC signed on in support of many of the elements being proposed. Read more below.
I AM (STILL) ESSENTIAL
The voice of the patient community is making a difference. In response to the concerns patient groups raised with HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell this past summer in a letter signed by 333 organizations, CMS has issued a proposed rule that directly addresses the issues we raised including limited prescription benefits, discrimination, and transparency in the qualified health plans. The many improvements included in the rule are just proposals.
The “I AM (Still) ESSENTIAL” coalition of patient groups has drafted the sign-on letter to Secretary Burwell in support of many elements of the proposed rule.
Please feel free to distribute this letter to your networks and “like” the “I AM ESSENTIAL” Facebook page.
