Multipartisan Assistance Team (MAT) Volunteers Needed in North Carolina!
MATs are primarily created and held to serve voters living at facilities such as nursing homes. They assist in requesting a mail-in absentee ballot or casting a mail-in absentee ballot
Per North Carolina General Statute, personnel employed at these facilities (to include owners, managers, directors, and employees) are legally prohibited from assisting patients in casting an absentee ballot.
In order for patients to cast this ballot, a MAT visit must be requested. Law requires that these teams be available upon request by the county board of elections.
