(Raleigh,
NC) - The National Association of Social Workers North Carolina chapter
is pleased to announce that North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has proclaimed March 2022 as National Social Work Month.

"Governor Cooper's recognition of Social Work Month this year and that The Time is Right for Social Work
highlights the importance of the social work profession as the largest group of mental health care providers in the United States. The time has always been right for social work as social workers
have always had an incredibly positive impact on the individuals,
families and communities in North Carolina, but now more than ever,
social workers are seen as critical to the functioning of our
communities during the pandemic,” says Valerie Arendt, Executive
Director of NASW North Carolina. "We thank Governor Cooper for his
recognition of our essential profession as we work to promote and enhance the
power of social work in North Carolina.”
