NC Medicaid Member COVID-19 Vaccination Incentives
To encourage more beneficiaries to get COVID-19 vaccinations, NC Medicaid has worked with managed care Standard Plans (SPs) to offer incentives to members when they get vaccinated. SPs are offering incentives including gift cards to help support this effort. In addition to regular health benefits, NC Medicaid SPs also provide extra benefits at no cost to members. This is a feature of managed care and often these extra benefits are not used but can improve members’ health by addressing food insecurity, technology access, transportation, and other personal supports. These extra benefits are called value-added services. Members must qualify to receive these services.
