The Student Borrower Protection Center, in partnership with AFT, NEA, AFSCME, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, AAUP and NASW, has launched a brand new resource to help people with student debt access student debt relief:

www.cancelmystudentdebt.org

This new effort aims to help borrowers understand their debt relief options, whether that is as simple as filling out the much-heralded application for $10,000 or $20,000 in debt relief, or taking steps to qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness in the wake of the hugely successful PSLF Limited Waiver which expired on Halloween. The site features new step-by-step guides to these programs and dozens of frequently asked questions about both broad debt cancellation and PSLF.

Moving forward, SBPC will also continue to host regular workshops for borrowers who want a closer look at these options to cancel debt– these include programming that provides an overview of the current landscape, along with deeper dives for borrowers working public service and for borrowers with older federally guaranteed student loans. Over the past 12 months, SBPC workshops have directly reached more than 100,000 student loan borrowers in partnership with dozens of federal, state, and local elected officials and community-based organizations.
