The National Association of Social Workers North Carolina Chapter (NASW-NC) is pleased to welcome Lauren Zingraff, MSW as the Director of Advocacy and Policy.

Lauren (she/her) received a BA in Communications from North Carolina State University and obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been a member of NASW since 2007. She has advocated on behalf of youth aging out of the foster care system, individuals living with chronic illness, and long-term care residents and their families.

Lauren was the recipient of the 2015 NASW-NC Myrna Miller Advocate of the Year Award for her advocacy as Executive Director of SaySo where she advocated for older foster youth in substitute care. Lauren helped children find their voice and worked to create opportunities and forums for youth to speak with their local officials, Departments of Social Services, and at the North Carolina General Assembly.

She also served as the Executive Director of Friends of Residents in Long Term Care advocating for the entire continuum of long-term care including nursing homes, adult care homes (assisted living), continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), and home health care.

Lauren has been an active member of the NASW-NC Equity & Inclusion Committee. She is thrilled to join the NASW-NC team and advance the mission of the association while advocating for social workers and social justice.

Lauren Zingraff will start with NASW-NC on February 13, 2023.
