NC DHHS Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Services announces three new funding opportunities through the Mental Health Block Grant. Following the recent announcement about the Community Based Mental Health Initiatives RFA, they have introduced two additional Requests for Applications (RFAs):
Community Based Mental Health Initiatives: Launched on August 6th, this RFA focuses on enhancing mental health supports for various communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, faith-based groups, people over 65, and non-native English speakers. Applications are due by September 6, 2024.
Peer Services: This opportunity includes funding for Peer Respite and Peer Living Room Models that serve as community-based alternatives to emergency departments or hospitals for crisis and recovery services. Applications are due by September 20, 2024.
Family and Caregiver Support Services: This opportunity supports programs that provide assistance to family members and siblings who care for individuals with behavioral health, substance use, intellectual or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, or co-occurring conditions. Applications are due by September 20, 2024.
Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply and help enhance mental health supports across North Carolina.
