In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we know the need for mental health services will be critical in the weeks, months, and years to come. As the immediate physical needs of those affected are being addressed, the next phase of relief will involve ongoing emotional and psychological support for those impacted.
To help meet this need, the National Association for Social Workers North Carolina in conjunction with the NC
Psychological Association, the North Carolina Psychiatric Association, the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the NC Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, is
compiling a list of mental health providers willing to offer free or sliding-scale fees for individuals affected by the hurricane.
We are reaching out to ask if you would be interested in providing services on a volunteer basis or at a reduced rate for a period of time as part of this effort. If so,
please complete this form
.
Your willingness to contribute your time and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling in the wake of this disaster. We hope to have this list ready to go, once immediate needs have been met and individuals begin to seek more long-term mental health support.
This is a tangible way for us to extend our care to those who need it most, and we appreciate any support you can provide.
