Presented by: Mathieu Despard, PhD, MSW
Key findings from a nationally representative survey concerning the economic impacts of the
COVID-19 pandemic will be reviewed, including job loss and ways in which these impacts have
been experienced differently among households based on factors such as race/ethnicity and
income. The presentation will also include a simple framework for understanding financial
resilience and key programs and resources that help house-holds build financial resilience,
including COVID-19 specific resources, public benefit programs, improving credit health,
emergency savings, and tax credits. Participants will be encouraged to share specific things
they have done to successfully intervene with clients to resolve financial challenges.
