Family psychoeducation is an evidence-based practice for individuals and families who
experience schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses. It is based on providing education,
support and skills training so that all members of a family or social network can support the
recovery of the person with mental illness. Despite having strong evidence for its effectiveness,
family psychoeducation is not widely available in clinical practice. This workshop will introduce
clinicians to the model, and explore how to implement it in your clinical practice.
