Volunteer for NASW-NC PACE Endorsed Candidates
Did you know? NASW-NC has a Political Action for Candidate Election Committee (PACE). This
committee endorses candidates that support social workers. Visit the 2020 PACE Endorsements website
here for a list of candidates and their campaign websites. Among this year’s endorsements are THREE
social workers running for the North Carolina House of Representatives. Representatives Sydney Batch
and Graig Meyer and Dr. Kimberly Hardy have all been endorsed by NASW-NC’s PACE Committee and
are determined to support social work values if elected.
We encourage NASW-NC members to assist these candidates in their races. You may contact the
campaign directly about your level of involvement. Ideas of getting involved may include:
Donating
Phone banking
Data entry/other remote “office” work
Fundraising
Give out information at the polls
Recruit volunteers
Join their social media team
Host a virtual get-together/meet-the-candidate
event
Drop off literature around the district
Request a yard sign for your home or help put
them out in the district.
Additionally, the National NASW PACE Committee has endorsed candidates running for federal office
throughout 35 states, including North Carolina. You can view their list of endorsements here. You can
also volunteer with our North Carolina National PACE Field Organizer to get out the word among social
workers about federally endorsed candidates by filling out this interest form. Our Field Organizer, Jodi
Rhoden, is training and gathering social workers to make calls to NASW-NC members through Election
Day.
